Core Rock Bookends BK13

Core Rock Bookends approximately 4" in diameter and stand 5.5 inches high are from the San Andres formation located 4,000 feet below the surface. This rock is estimated at being 230 million years old. This core sample was pulled from a oil and gas well drilled during the late 70s early 80s at a time when there were many new discoveries of potental oil and gas fields in the Permian Basin of West Test and Southeast New Mexico. Now that the oil fields are well estblished they seldom core wells do to the large cost over runs in the 10ths of thousands of dollars.
